Five Mom-Inspired Driving Tips #Esurance

Selecting the best car insurance to cover your family vehicles at an affordable price can be a daunting task. With so many competitive options out there, how do you decide which will be the best choice for your family?

Social Moms has recently teamed up with Esurance to share some insight into their promise of making car insurance easier — from quote to claim — for you and your family.  Make sure you check out Esurance's tips on the following topics:  Five Mom-Inspired Driving Tips, Tips for safe winter driving or the Esurance Facebook page resources.

So what are OneMommaSavinMoney's Five Mom-Inspired Driving Tips?
  1. Make sure your vehicle is in tip-top road-safe condition before you head out! Get an oil change, make sure all your fluids are full, check your tire pressure, etc.  Better  to have all the bugs worked out closer to home, than take a trip and pay big bucks at an unfamiliar service station!
  2. Buckle up! Make sure you are wearing your seat belt at all times while on a road trip and if you have car seats, make sure they are properly installed! Some local fire departments and or police departments offer free car seat inspections!  If your children are in booster seat, make sure they know how to sit properly in their seats and their seat belts are on properly!
  3. Put the cell phone away! Do not text, surf the web, etc. while driving! The calls and messages can wait till you make a pit stop.  Set a good example for your kids!  Texting and driving do not mix!
  4. Always carry a first aid kit and auto kit (a jack, jumper cables, flash light etc.), hopefully you will never need these items, but it is always better to be safe!  Also make sure you know how to use everything in your kit!  The first aid kit comes in handy if you a mom of kids in sports!  I have refilled my bandages a few times!
  5. With kids there a some travel musts: snacks, water bottles and some activities to keep them busy!  I made sure that the car seats we purchased had cup holders, or you can purchase them as well.  This way the kids have easy access to drinks and we put snacks in a plastic cup in the other holder.  So no more mom or dad reaching back trying to dole out snacks and drinks! We have some seek and find books and magnadoodles, etc. in a soft sided bin between the seats for the kids to keep them occupied!

Esurance’s new TV advertisements are also encouraging consumers to visit the company’s Facebook page and contribute to the conversation. Moms can engage directly with Esurance on the page to get their customer service questions addressed, get a quick car insurance quote, and see how other people are talking about Esurance. The company welcomes all comments, and promptly responds to a great many of them. Unlike many other brands, Esurance does not delete negative comments, as long as they comply with the page’s Wall Etiquette, contribute to the conversation and provide Esurance with an opportunity to learn how to improve its products and service.

If you have a smartphone, check out the Esurance mobile app, which has a feature that lets you know the status of your repairs while your car is at the shop (and even lets you see pictures). The Esurance website is another great resource for helping you learn about insuring your vehicles. Check out the Car Insurance Myths and Car Insurance FAQs for lots of helpful, easy-to-understand info.

  2. Being a more responsible driver definitely helps you qualify for lower car insurance rates. Matter of fact, some insurance companies offer discounts to clients who have completed defensive driving training program as well as when your car comes with anti-lock brakes, automatic seat belts, airbags and anti-theft devices.
