Knit a cap, save a newborn life

Save the Children's Baby Caps holiday gift is a perfect idea for people who knit/craft, especially since many are looking to help those less fortunate in other countries without writing a check. The basic idea is to knit a simple baby cap (it's also a great learning activity to do with your kids), and save a newborn life. Knitting a baby cap is a simple and effective tool that can keep babies warm and ultimately contribute to reducing newborn deaths (which is 4 million per year) in the developing world.  Save the Children will send the caps to their newborn health programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Making a cap is easy - just follow the patterns in this booklet or visit GoodGoes.org/caps to view additional patterns for newborn caps.
